The 24th ISRRT World Congress takes place 12–14 April 2027 at the Dubai World Trade Centre — the first time the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists holds its World Congress in the Middle East. Three days of scientific sessions, workshops and an international exhibition bring together radiographers and radiological technologists from across the globe to shape the future of medical imaging and radiotherapy.
About the organisers
ISRRT was founded in 1959 as the International Secretariat of Radiographers and Radiological Technicians, becoming the International Society in 1962 and taking its current name in 1992. Today it represents over 65 member countries and some 200,000 radiographers worldwide, working closely with national bodies and the World Health Organization to advance radiography globally.
The congress is hosted with the Radiographer Society of Emirates (RASE) — the primary national association for radiographers in the UAE, operating under the Emirates Medical Society — and organised by INDEX Conferences & Exhibitions.
Scientific programme
Three days of dedicated radiography sessions led by international faculty, covering the pivotal and expanding role of the radiographer across:
- Diagnostic radiography and advanced imaging techniques
- CT, MRI, ultrasound and nuclear medicine
- Radiotherapy and radiation oncology practice
- Radiation protection, dose optimisation and patient safety
- Artificial intelligence and digital transformation in medical imaging
- Education, research and professional development for radiographers
Workshops and hands-on sessions run alongside the main programme.
Call for abstracts — open
Poster abstracts are open for submission via the congress website. Radiographers, technologists, educators and students are invited to present research, service improvement and case work to a global audience.
Exhibition
A large international trade exhibition runs alongside the congress, showcasing imaging equipment, radiotherapy technology, PACS/AI software, contrast media, radiation protection products and educational providers. Stand bookings and sponsorship packages are published on the exhibition page.
