Overview
The Saudi Society of Emergency Medicine (SASEM) returns with its 11th Scientific Assembly, held in Jeddah from 12–14 September 2026 under the theme #NextGen_EM. The assembly is the largest annual gathering of emergency physicians, residents, EMS providers and emergency nurses in Saudi Arabia, and 2026 places the next generation of the specialty at the centre of the programme.
Delegates move between four parallel halls (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta) plus a main plenary hall across three days, choosing from more than thirty tracks that span the full breadth of modern emergency practice.
Scientific programme highlights
Day 1 — Saturday 12 September: Emergency Medicine Nuggets (NAGNAGAH), PEM in the Digital Age, Geriatric Emergency Medicine, Sports Emergency Medicine and General Emergency Track I.
Day 2 — Sunday 13 September: Trauma Track I, Literature Update, Critical Care Emergency Medicine Track I, PEM Critical Care, PEM Trauma, a live DEBATE session, Digital Emergency Medicine, Point of Care Ultrasound, Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Medicine Nursing, NEXGEN EM Track I and General Emergency Medicine Track II.
Day 3 — Monday 14 September: Critical Care Emergency Medicine Track II, Trauma Track II, GAMES, General Pediatric Emergency Medicine, NEXGEN EM Track II, Disaster Medicine, Total Quality Management, Nature vs the Human Body, Career Advancement Track, Sponsors Track, Emergency Medicine and the Law, and General Emergency Medicine Track III.
Pre-conference workshops (10 September)
Hands-on workshops run the day before the assembly, most at the Ritz-Carlton:
- Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) in Resuscitation — 1,300 SAR
- Understanding ECG — For Once, For All — 350 SAR
- Trauma Mastery Masterclass (TMM) — 3,500 SAR
- Survivability in Chaos: Hands-on Operational CBRNE Incident Management — 700 SAR
- From Dive Site to Hyperbaric Chamber (held at La Plage) — 1,000 SAR
Seats are limited and several workshops were already close to capacity at the time of listing.
Call for abstracts
Abstract submission is open through the SASEM 2026 portal for oral and poster presentations across five categories: scientific research, clinical study, case report, public health and education. Structured abstracts require background, methods and results sections of 50–100 words each and a conclusion of 30–50 words, plus keywords, presenting-author details and confirmation of ethics approval. Optional tables and figures may be uploaded (max 250 KB each).
Registration
Early-bird rates apply until 15 August 2026: full conference with CME credits 900 SAR (1,100 SAR late), full conference without CME 700 SAR (900 SAR late), and allied professionals and students 450 SAR (550 SAR late). Payment is by card or bank transfer to the Saudi Society of Emergency Medicine. Cancellations receive a full refund at least 21 days ahead, 50% between 7 and 21 days, and none inside 7 days. Attendance certificates require at least 90% attendance, and the SCFHS CME portal closes three days after the activity.
Accreditation
SCFHS CME accreditation is listed as under process; the confirmed hours will be published by the society before the assembly.
