The RCEM PEM Conference 2026 is a joint RCEM–RCPCH combined programme delivering a focused, high-impact day designed around the realities of contemporary Paediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) practice. Taking place on Thursday 2 July 2026 at Bristol Grand Hotel, the conference is accredited for 6 CPD points.
The programme follows patient encounters from babies to adolescents, combining keynote insights with themed panel discussions that address both everyday challenges and high-stakes scenarios. Early sessions explore infant health including vaccine hesitancy, allergy prevention, and neonatal considerations. The focus then shifts to the care of sick children in district general hospitals, trauma, and lessons from humanitarian and conflict settings.
The afternoon centres on adolescent emergency care, addressing complex medical, mental health, safeguarding, and sexual assault presentations, alongside candid discussions around trauma outcomes and resilience. The day concludes with reflections on leadership, team working, and the evolving role of the emergency clinician. This event is aimed at Higher Speciality RCEM and RCPCH PEM Trainees, though all those interested in paediatric emergency medicine are welcome.
