The 46th ICMM World Congress of Military Medicine takes place 9–13 November 2026 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, hosted by the UAE Ministry of Defence under the auspices of the International Committee of Military Medicine. Held every two years, the Congress is the largest gathering of military medical leadership, clinicians, researchers and defence-health industry partners in the Middle East.
The programme opens on 9 November with full-day pre-congress workshops (08:00–17:00, 8 hours each, USD 100): CBRNE Field Decontamination & Medical Care (40 seats), MIMIC-AD multi-agency mass-casualty tabletop exercise (30 seats), Traumatic Brain Injury: All in One (30 seats), ASSET Advanced Surgical Skills for Exposure in Trauma (cadaver lab, 8 seats), and Work Force Resilience and Wellbeing. The main scientific programme runs 10–13 November with hall sessions, plenaries, focused group discussions and a technology showcase and exhibition open throughout.
Scientific content spans emergency medicine, trauma and general surgery, orthopaedic and plastic/reconstructive surgery, anaesthesiology and critical care, internal and family medicine, infectious diseases, public health and preventive medicine, occupational and aerospace medicine, rehabilitation, neurology and neurosurgery, psychiatry, radiology, pathology, dentistry and oral & maxillofacial surgery, undersea and hyperbaric medicine, and allied health. CME hours are offered across hall sessions, workshops and focused group discussions; totals depend on the sessions attended and hall-wise CME detail is being published by the organisers.
Abstract submission opened 16 January 2026 and closed 3 August 2026, with review 4–18 August, notifications 19 August–2 September and the final programme published 7 September 2026. Themes covered force health screening and medical readiness; advanced medical, surgical and dental care for operational forces; operational medical logistics and supply-chain readiness; military and civilian medical research and innovation; ICMM technical commissions; and cross-cutting subjects including women in uniform, veterinary medicine, ethics and the law of armed conflict, and wellness.
Registration offers two paths: a free Exhibition Visitor pass (show floor only, no scientific sessions or CME) and paid Congress Delegate registration covering sessions, workshops, focus groups, CME and full exhibition access. Online rates (AED, incl. 5% VAT, valid 29 August–8 November 2026) are AED 3,000 member, AED 3,500 non-member, AED 1,000 day pass (10–13 Nov) or medical student, AED 1,500 for delegates from low and medium income countries per UN classification, and free for UAE students. Pre-congress workshops are AED 270.
