    About this event

4th International Conference on Mass-Gatherings & Emergency Medicine (ICMGEM 2026)

    07 Oct 2026 – 09 Oct 2026 · Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia · Hybrid

Held under the patronage of HRH Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Governor of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, the 4th International Conference on Mass-Gatherings & Emergency Medicine (ICMGEM 2026) brings together global experts, healthcare leaders and frontline responders in Jeddah from 7–9 October 2026 to advance one of the most pressing public-health challenges of our time: ensuring safe, effective, and efficient emergency preparedness and response during mass gatherings.

Organised by the Society of Pediatric Emergency Medicine in partnership with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, ACEP, WADEM, UBT and the World Health Organization, the meeting is chaired by Dr. Mohammed AlFaifi (Alfaisal University, Riyadh), with Dr. Naif Marzook (King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital, Jeddah) leading the Scientific Committee. It is accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties for 24 CME hours (ACA-20260002238), with additional accreditation for parallel workshops in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) for Emergency Care, Hemorrhage Control / TCCC for Civilian First Responders, and Emergency Airway Management.

The three-day scientific programme covers leadership and Hospital Incident Command System, pre-event planning and risk stratification, patient safety and quality metrics for mass gatherings, pediatric emergencies in disasters, and evidence-based in-event health-care services for large sporting events. A dedicated track is devoted to the 2026 FIFA World Cup Operational Readiness Framework, presented by international experts including Prof. Selim Suner (Brown University), Prof. Ives Hubloue (UZ Brussel), Prof. Denise Whitfield (UCLA), Prof. Saman Kashani (USC / LA Fire Department) and Prof. Dato Abdullah (Malaysia).

Saudi expertise is deeply represented across the programme, with contributions from Prof. Saeed AlGhamdi (SCFHS – 5th Sector), Dr. Ahmed Mutair and Prof. Abdullah AlHawsawi (The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj & Umrah Research), Dr. Hattan Bojan (MoH, Makkah Region), Dr. Abdullah AlHamdan and Dr. Fahad Samarkandy (Saudi Red Crescent Authority), Dr. Mohammed AlShahrani (MoD Health Services), Dr. Abdullah Shalabi (King Abdullah Medical City, Makkah), Dr. Taha AlMasri (WADEM-MENA Chapter), and many others from KAMC, King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital, KKU, IMC and NEOM Hospital.

Key themes include risk assessment, crowd management, disaster preparedness, CBRNE operations, AI applications in mass-gathering medicine, real-time communication systems and post-event evaluation. As Saudi Arabia prepares to host Expo 2030 in Riyadh and the FIFA World Cup 2034, ICMGEM 2026 is positioned as a strategic knowledge-exchange platform to strengthen national preparedness and advance global standards in mass-gathering and emergency medicine.

Format: Hybrid (Online | Onsite) · Target audience: All Health Practitioners and Healthcare Students · Registration fee: 375 SAR (conference); workshops available as add-ons after conference registration.
