IDF Congress 2027 — International Diabetes Federation World Congress

The IDF Congress 2027, the world congress of the International Diabetes Federation, will be held in Singapore from 10 to 12 April 2027. Following extensive consideration of the evolving regional context in the Gulf and wider Middle East and its potential impact on international participation, IDF has postponed the congress originally planned for Qatar and relocated the 2027 edition to Singapore — a city chosen for its international connectivity, world-class conference infrastructure and strong record in healthcare innovation and medical research. The meeting continues to be organised in collaboration with the Qatar Metabolic Institute (HMC) and the Diabetes Qatar Association.
IDF Congress is the largest global gathering of the diabetes community, convening clinicians, researchers, primary care providers, diabetes educators, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, public health professionals, policy makers and people living with diabetes. The 2027 programme is built as a three-day congress with nine programme streams and up to seven parallel sessions, delivering approximately 110 hours of scientific content from around 200 leading international speakers, alongside 1,000 e-posters and a 5,000 square metre exhibition with a dedicated diabetes spotlight area. An estimated 17 CME credits are expected.
Programme content spans the full diabetes landscape: type 1 and type 2 diabetes management, incretin-based and novel pharmacotherapy, diabetes technology including CGM, automated insulin delivery and digital therapeutics, obesity and metabolic health, diabetes in pregnancy, pediatric and adolescent diabetes, diabetic kidney disease, cardiovascular and circulatory health, the diabetic foot, prevention and screening strategies, health systems and access to care, education and self-management, and the global policy agenda following the UN Political Declaration on NCDs. The Dr. R. D. Lawrence Honour Lecture remains a programme highlight. The Programme Committee is chaired by Prof Jonathan Shaw, with Dr Banshi Saboo and Mr Kyle Jacques Rose as co-chairs.
Key dates: abstract submission runs from 15 June to 15 August 2026 with selection notifications on 21 October 2026; registration opens in July 2026 and the early rate deadline is 31 October 2026.
