The IDF-WPR 2026 & Australasian Diabetes Congress (ADC) 2026 & Metabolic Diseases 2026 is a landmark joint congress held 18–21 August 2026 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC), Melbourne, Australia. It brings together the International Diabetes Federation – Western Pacific Region (IDF-WPR) biennial meeting, the Australasian Diabetes Congress (co-hosted by the Australian Diabetes Society, ADS, the Australian Diabetes Educators Association, ADEA, and Diabetes Australia), and the biennial Metabolic Diseases 2026 – Discovery Science in Diabetes meeting under one roof — the largest diabetes gathering ever held in the Asia-Pacific region.
Program — six parallel streams:
- Living with Diabetes — voices of people living with diabetes shaping research, care and policy.
- Diabetes Education & Quality Improvement — models of care, peer support, education initiatives, equity, and system-wide improvements in diabetes care.
- Metabolic Diseases 2026 – Discovery Science in Diabetes — discovery, clinical and pharmaceutical science on diabetes, obesity and their complications.
- Epidemiology, Public Health & Policy — population-level burden of diabetes across the Western Pacific and evidence-based policy responses.
- Diabetes Complications — prevention and management of micro- and macro-vascular complications, diabetes-related foot disease, MAFLD, cognitive impairment and emerging complications.
- Clinical Diabetes Management & Therapeutics — new medications, novel technologies, models of care, First Nations health, paediatric and geriatric diabetes, pregnancy, and complex co-morbidities.
