    About this event

The San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) 2026 returns to San Antonio, Texas, from 8 to 11 December 2026. Running since 1978, SABCS describes itself as the world's largest breast cancer symposium, drawing more than 11,000 attendees from over 100 countries and featuring more than 2,300 abstracts.

    What to expect

Over four days, the symposium covers the full spectrum of breast cancer research: experimental biology, etiology, translational science, prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship. The organizers highlight 2026 program themes including AI-based pathology, cancer prevention vaccines, circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA), radioligand therapies and new treatment approaches.

    Who attends

    • Researchers in clinical, translational and basic science, presenting findings across surgical, gynecologic, medical and radiation oncology
    • Patient advocates and survivors, who serve as speakers, panelists and moderators and present posters through dedicated advocate programs
    • Early-career scientists, who present work and build collaborations with established leaders

SABCS Co-Director Virginia G. Kaklamani, MD leads the symposium's scientific programming. Official housing is open through the SABCS housing system, and registration is available online.

    Why attend

SABCS is where many practice-changing breast cancer trials are first presented each December, making it a key meeting for oncologists, breast surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, oncology nurses and researchers who want the latest evidence before it reaches guidelines.
