PICS–IPC Istanbul 2027 is the third annual collaborative meeting between the PICS (Pediatric and Adult Interventional Cardiac Symposium) Society, the IPC of Milan and the Turkish Society/Association of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery. It takes place from 14 to 17 April 2027 at the Wyndham Grand Istanbul Levent Hotel and Conference Center, using Istanbul's position as the only major city bridging two continents as the meeting point for interventional cardiologists from East and West.
The meeting is built around the interventional treatment of congenital and structural heart disease across the whole age range, from newborns with duct-dependent circulation to adults with previously repaired congenital lesions. As in every PICS meeting, the scientific backbone is live and recorded case transmission: operators walk the audience through device selection, access strategy, imaging guidance and bail-out planning in real time, with a moderated panel challenging each decision as it is made. Recorded cases from around the world are used to cover rarer anatomies and complications that cannot be scheduled live, and the 3D Imaging/I3 partnership adds dedicated sessions on echocardiographic and cross-sectional imaging for procedural planning.
Expected content areas include transcatheter pulmonary valve implantation, ASD, VSD and PDA device closure, coarctation and branch pulmonary artery stenting, hybrid procedures with congenital cardiac surgery, management of the failing Fontan circulation, structural interventions in adult congenital heart disease, and complication management and device retrieval. Faculty is drawn from the international PICS and IPC networks alongside Turkish congenital cardiology and cardiac surgery leaders, and an organising and scientific committee has already been named on the official congress website.
Abstract submission is open for the 2027 edition, giving trainees and early-career interventionalists a route into the programme through oral and poster presentation and moderated case competitions. The congress is accredited for European CME through EACCME, making attendance countable toward continuing professional development requirements in Saudi Arabia, the GCC and Europe.
