The 5th Clinical Masterclass in Orthognathic Surgery, held under the theme "Advances & New Trends", takes place on 2 and 3 October 2026 at the Narcissus Hotel in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The masterclass is organised by NAJ Training Center under the supervision of Dr. Norah K. Alajaji, in collaboration with the Saudi Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and the Saudi Orthodontic Society, and carries 14 CME hours.
Now in its fifth edition, the masterclass has established itself as one of the region's most practical meetings on orthognathic surgery — the correction of dentofacial deformity through combined orthodontic and surgical management of the jaws. It is deliberately structured as a comprehensive two-day experience rather than a lecture programme alone, and seats are limited to preserve a focused learning environment.
Day 1 is the theoretical part: a full programme of educational sessions covering recent advances, evidence-based innovations and the evolving trends shaping contemporary orthognathic practice. Topics span diagnosis and treatment planning of skeletal Class II and Class III deformities, orthodontic preparation and decompensation, surgery-first approaches, segmental and bimaxillary osteotomies, genioplasty, management of the airway in orthognathic patients, and the assessment of stability and relapse.
Day 2 is the practical and live surgery day. A central component is 3D facial analysis — three-dimensional evaluation, virtual surgical planning and simulation, and the use of digital workflows and printed splints to deliver predictable, reproducible outcomes. Participants then observe real orthognathic surgery cases performed by expert surgeons in a fully equipped operating theatre, with commentary and discussion throughout, allowing delegates to follow decision-making in the operating room rather than only in retrospect.
The faculty brings together fourteen Saudi and international specialists in oral and maxillofacial surgery and orthodontics, chaired by course director Dr. Nasser Al-Asseri, with Prof. Ibrahim Al-Shahrani, Dr. Thamer Al-Anezi, Dr. Abdulmalik Al-Yahya, Dr. Mutaz Qutob, Dr. Faleh Al-Shahrani, Dr. Eman Al-Namnkani, Dr. Essam Dagel, Dr. Khalid Al-Muammar, Dr. Mohammed Al-Shamrani, Dr. Abdullah Al-Qahtani, Dr. Ali Al-Haizaie, Dr. Ayyob Abo-Alkhair and Dr. Osama Ahmed.
The masterclass is aimed at oral and maxillofacial surgeons, orthodontists, plastic surgeons with a facial interest, and senior residents and fellows in these specialties who plan, prepare or perform orthognathic cases. Registration is offered in two options: the full two-day package including lectures and live surgery at SAR 2,900, and a Day 1 lectures-only option at an early registration rate of SAR 690 (regular SAR 790). Places are limited and registration is through najtraining.com; the organisers can also be reached on +966 55 185 5653.
