The International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM) has selected Dublin as the host city for its 2029 Global Congress on Emergency Medicine, following a successful bid by the Irish Association for Emergency Medicine (IAEM). The congress is expected to attract more than 3,000 delegates from across the world.

About IFEM Global Congress: IFEM's biennial Global Congress is one of the world's leading forums for Emergency Medicine professionals, bringing together clinicians, researchers, educators, and policymakers from across the globe to share knowledge, advance practice, and shape the future of emergency care. Securing the 2029 conference for Dublin highlights Ireland's growing leadership in the specialty and its commitment to excellence in emergency healthcare delivery.

A legacy of innovation in Dublin: Ireland previously hosted the IFEM Congress in Dublin in 2012. That highly successful and innovative event became a catalyst in the development of Free Open Access Medical education (FOAMed), a movement that has since transformed the global sharing of medical knowledge and education.

Why Dublin: The successful bid showcased Ireland's clinical expertise, academic contribution and renowned hospitality. Ireland's vibrant medical community, world-class conference facilities, and welcoming international outlook made it an outstanding choice. Hosting IFEM 2029 will provide an invaluable opportunity to highlight innovation in Emergency Medicine, foster international collaboration, and inspire the next generation of clinicians.

About IAEM: The Irish Association for Emergency Medicine is the professional body representing Emergency Medicine clinicians in Ireland. IAEM is a Limited Company (Registration No. 499633) and Registered Charity (No. 20066659), based c/o the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, 123 St Stephen's Green, Dublin 2 — info@iaem.ie / +353 1 402 8606.

About IFEM: The International Federation for Emergency Medicine is a global federation of national Emergency Medicine organisations. Its biennial Global Congress (ICEM/IFEM Congress) rotates between continents and is the largest international meeting in the specialty.
