The Cancer Research UK Lung Cancer Centre of Excellence (CRUK LCCE) Conference runs from 4–6 November 2026 at The Midland Hotel, Manchester, bringing together an exceptional line-up of leading scientists and clinicians working on the most recent advances in lung cancer.
The CRUK LCCE is a joint initiative between the CRUK Manchester Institute and University College London, and this conference is its flagship scientific meeting: three days of thought-provoking talks, vibrant poster sessions and deliberately unhurried discussion time designed to spark collaboration between laboratory science and the clinic.

Programme highlights
The meeting opens on Wednesday 4 November with a welcome from Caroline Dive and Charles Swanton, followed by a keynote from Charles Rudin (Memorial Sloan Kettering) on insights and opportunities in small cell lung cancer. Session 1 covers molecular prevention and interception — including Sarah Blagden on LungVax and William Hill on tumour promotion by air pollutants — before an afternoon devoted to optimising radiotherapy with Corinne Faivre-Finn, Philippe Lambin and Matthias Guckenberger. The day closes with an Early Career Researchers session designed for direct access to the speakers.
Thursday 5 November opens with lung cancer origins (Humam Kadara, Tuomas Tammela, Herbert Schiller), moves through flash talks and a lung cancer immunology session featuring Luis Paz-Ares, Christine Lovly, Daniel Murphy and Santiago Zelenay, then turns to screening and early detection with Phil Crosbie, Robert Rintoul, Daniel Muñoz-Espín and Sam Janes, alongside patient talks. The evening holds the poster session and conference dinner.
Friday 6 November begins with a keynote from Mihaela van der Schaar (University of Cambridge), followed by a session on biological heterogeneity with Leanne Li on lung cancer and the nervous system, Thales Papagiannakopoulos on metabolic mechanisms of progression, and Ramaswamy Govindan on proteogenomics from bench to bedside.
Abstracts and registration
Abstract-selected speaking slots are built into every session, so submitting is a genuine route onto the podium rather than a formality. The abstract deadline is 5 September 2026 and the registration deadline is 10 October 2026.
