About the conference
HAAG 2026 is a leading regional hematology conference held under the umbrella of the Middle East & North Africa Hematology League (MENAHL) and organised by Event Troop. Over two days at the InterContinental Jeddah, it brings together distinguished regional and international experts, clinicians, researchers and healthcare professionals to exchange knowledge, discuss evolving standards of care, and translate the latest scientific advances into everyday clinical practice.
The programme is deliberately practice-oriented: expert-led lectures, satellite symposia, meet-the-expert sessions and a closing debate block, covering the full breadth of malignant and benign hematology.
Scientific programme at a glance
Day 1 — Friday 4 September
- Session 1 — Myeloid malignancy: fitness assessment in AML guidelines (Dr. Ihab El Hemaidi), pre-MDS states CHIP/CCUS/ICUS (Dr. Syed Osman), and biological therapy in AML with Prof. Naval Daver (MD Anderson, USA)
- Session 2 — Acute lymphoblastic leukemia: uncommon forms of ALL, CAR T-cell therapy as consolidation versus a bridge to allogeneic transplant (Dr. John Gribben, UK), allogeneic HSCT for adults with ALL (Prof. David Marks, UK), and translating evidence into local practice
- Meet the Expert (Al Diwaniya Hall): histiocytosis with Dr. Hind Salama, plus a SERB satellite symposium
- Session 3 — Lymphoma: chemotherapy-free approaches in MCL and T-cell lymphoma with Prof. Pier Luigi Zinzani (Italy), and CAR T versus bispecifics sequencing in LBCL with Dr. Marco Ruella (USA)
- Roche satellite symposium: second-line DLBCL treatment currents
- Session 4 — Emerging issues in practice: tailoring sickle cell disease treatment, haemophilia beyond factor support, evidence-based transfusion support, and asciminib in frontline CML
Day 2 — Saturday 5 September
- Session 1 — Multiple myeloma: new response and risk criteria, the pillars of myeloma care beyond therapy, plus immune-therapy resistance and a CAR-T/bispecifics update from Dr. Evangelos Terpos (Greece)
- Session 2 — Chronic leukemia & MPN: individualized treatment in myelofibrosis, CML management in 2026 with Dr. Timothy Hughes (Australia), and MRD testing in AML
- Session 3 — Lymphoma: frontline Hodgkin lymphoma, unusual NHL forms, CLL after BTK failure, and zanubrutinib updates
- Session 4 — Debate: low-intensity therapy in younger fit AML patients (yes/no) and chemotherapy-free frontline Ph-positive ALL (yes/no), followed by MDS case discussions and closing remarks

Pre-conference workshop — Fundamental HSCT Course for Hematology Fellows
Thursday 3 September, 17:00–21:00. A dedicated evening course chaired by Dr. Nahla Shehata and Dr. Walaa Rajkhan, walking fellows through the transplant pathway end to end: patient and donor selection (Dr. Ayman Saad), HLA and beyond (Dr. Moheeb Awwami), collection and conditioning (Dr. Syed Osman), day 0 and the early transplant period (Dr. Zaied Alzahrani), and late complications, chimerism/MRD, DLI and survivorship (Dr. Osman Radwi). Workshop registration is separate from main conference registration.
