The Saudi Interventional Radiology Society (SIRS) hosts its 10th Annual Scientific Congress — SIRS 2027 — from 14 to 16 January 2027 at the Hilton Riyadh Hotel, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Held under the theme "Treatment Beyond Boundaries — Education. Innovation. Collaboration.", this milestone tenth edition is dedicated to building the next generation of interventional radiology (IR) leaders in the Kingdom and across the region.
Over three days, SIRS 2027 brings together interventional radiologists, vascular specialists, trainees, allied health professionals and industry innovators for a dense scientific programme. Published sessions cover aortic and iliac arterial disease (type B dissection, fenestrated and branched EVAR, in-situ fenestration, aortoiliac occlusive disease), interventional oncology across two dedicated blocks (HCC treatment selection in 2027, Y90 precision dosimetry and curative-intent therapy), women's health and men's health interventions, dialysis access and interventional nephrology, portal hypertension, venous intervention, SFA and below-the-knee revascularisation, pulmonary embolism and pulmonary intervention, ablation, MSK intervention, pediatric intervention, and structured debates in IR alongside morbidity and mortality review.
International collaboration is a defining feature of this edition: joint sessions run as "SIRS Meets CIRSE" with European faculty including Prof. Stefan Müller-Hülsbeck, Prof. Miltiadis Krokidis, Prof. Rob Morgan and Dr. Alex Barnacle, and as "SIRS Meets APCVIR" with Asia-Pacific faculty including Prof. Wei Che Lin, Dr. Luan D. Nguyen and Dr. Kevin Fung. A pre-conference day adds a neurointervention programme, a dedicated allied health track, eight hands-on workshops and a Fellows Review Course delivered through the SIRS Academy.
The congress also runs an abstract submission track with oral presentation slots reserved for young interventional radiologists, plus the SIRS Award 2027 recognising outstanding contributions to the field. Registration is priced at SAR 800 for SIRS member physicians and SAR 500 for members in training; non-member physicians pay SAR 1,600 and non-member trainees SAR 1,000, with complimentary registration for allied health professionals and students, and a 20% reduction for collaboration partners.
