The 2nd Annual MNGHA-WR Research Day brings the research community of the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, Western Region together for a full day of scientific exchange at the King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) Convention Center in Jeddah on 17 September 2026, 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM. The day is organised by the Deanship of Postgraduate Education in collaboration with Continuing Professional Development, Jeddah (CPD | JDH), and attendance is free of charge.
Research days of this kind sit at the centre of how King Abdulaziz Medical City builds its academic output: they give trainees and consultants a low-barrier venue to present work in progress, receive structured feedback from senior faculty, and find collaborators across departments that rarely meet in day-to-day clinical practice. For many residents and medical students in the Western Region, this is the first formal platform on which their project is discussed by an audience outside their own unit.
Objectives
By the end of the event, participants will be able to:
- Promote research excellence among the staff of King Abdulaziz Medical City.
- Prepare and lead national and global research competitions aimed at improving the quality of patient care.
- Motivate healthcare workers to pursue further careers in the medical research field.
Who should attend
The organisers have opened the day widely across the professional hierarchy: trainees, medical students, residents, fellows, assistant consultants, consultants, nurses and other allied health professionals, together with researchers and practitioners interested in sharing findings, research and professional insight. The mixed audience is deliberate — much of the value of a research day comes from methodological critique arriving from outside the presenter's own specialty.
