Chronic Disease Management Course by VistaMed Academy is a focused, practice-oriented online programme built for family physicians, primary-care doctors, residents and general practitioners who manage chronic conditions every single clinic day. It runs as live evening sessions starting 10 August 2026, 7:00–9:00 PM (KSA) over Zoom, with slides and recordings made available afterwards for review.
What the course covers
The curriculum walks through the diagnosis and day-to-day management of the chronic conditions that dominate the family medicine clinic:
- Hypertension — diagnosis, staging and stepwise pharmacological management
- Asthma — assessment of control, inhaler selection and escalation/de-escalation
- Dyslipidemia — risk stratification and lipid-lowering strategies
- Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus — a comprehensive approach including treatment algorithms
- Hypothyroidism — recognition, testing pitfalls and replacement therapy
Format and teaching approach
Rather than lecture-only theory, the course is built around practical, evidence-based strategies tailored for family medicine practice. Sessions are interactive and case-driven: real clinical cases are worked through with the faculty, with management pearls drawn from everyday outpatient decision-making. Content is delivered in flexible, focused modules on key topics, so participants can follow the full programme or concentrate on the conditions most relevant to their practice.
All registered participants receive access to the slides and session recordings for watching after the live evenings, and access to the course material remains open for three months from 10 August 2026 — useful for clinicians on rotating shifts who cannot attend every live session in real time.
Faculty
The course is delivered by Dr. Yousef Al Zahib, Consultant in Family Medicine and Diabetes, and Dr. Ahmad Al-Qubaidi. Dr. Al Zahib is a board-certified physician based in Riyadh whose clinical focus is diabetes and family medicine, and who founded VistaMed Academy to make structured, applied clinical teaching accessible to Arabic-speaking physicians.
