The 5th International Family Medicine Symposium on Family Medicine and Home Healthcare 2026 (ICFM) returns to the Fairmont Hotel, Riyadh, from 5 to 7 October 2026 under the theme "Empowering Lives, Shaping Future Care". It is organized by the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Prince Sultan Military Medical City (PSMMC), part of the General Administration of Health Services at the Ministry of Defense, and this year is held jointly under the auspices of the Saudi Society of Family and Community Medicine (SSFCM).
ICFM has grown steadily since its first edition in April 2019 at the Hilton Riyadh, themed "Raising the Standard in Primary Care", which attracted over 1,000 delegates. The second edition went virtual in December 2020 with more than 2,000 attendees under "Innovations in Primary Care", and the third and fourth editions were hosted at the Fairmont Riyadh, building the meeting's reputation as a leading platform for family medicine professionals in the Kingdom.
The programme opens on 5 October with four hands-on pre-conference workshops (25 seats each, SAR 50): Research Methods & Evidence-Based Medicine (study designs, statistics for non-statisticians, responsible AI use in research); Sleep Medicine – from snoring to metabolic health, chronotypes, circadian disruption, caffeine, naps, melatonin and sleep medications; Urgent Cases in Family Medicine with bedside stations such as modified Valsalva, Dix-Hallpike and Epley manoeuvres; and AI in Primary Care.
The two-day main conference on 6–7 October covers clinical excellence, preventive and lifestyle medicine, home healthcare, women's health, quality and patient experience, mental health and research, alongside a healthcare exhibition and networking opportunities.
Accreditation: 12 SCFHS CME hours for the conference and 6 CME hours for the pre-conference workshops.
Registration fees (inclusive of 15% VAT): Physicians SAR 150 early bird (until 15 September), SAR 250 regular (16–30 September), SAR 350 late/on-site (1–8 October).
